The introduction of the V4.2 software has brought many new wonderful features and applications to aid our workflow.  One of the most important is the virtual articulator.  The articulator is known as an "average value articulator".  This concept is quite scientifically sound when certain conditions are meant.  A brief outline of these conditions are the following:

  • Accurate articulation of the upper and lower jaw
  • Accurate occlusal plane
  • Jaw boundaries provided by average articulator values

These details provide a Functionally Generated Path of the lower jaw.  Now... how accurate is it?
